Mango is one of the most famous tropical fruits. Its high nutritive value makes it one of the richest sources of vitamin A, protein, phosphorus and carbohydrates. It is also a good source of dietary fiber. The Philippine Carabao mango is proud of its unique and flavorful mango taste and is one of the most sought after tropical fruits in Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Australia and other fruit loving countries the world over.
To "savor the fresh fruit goodness of Philippine Mangoes", the fruits undergo individual quick freezing (IQF). Mangoes pass through a 5-stage washing to
remove adhering dirt and to lower microbial load. Mango is sliced and then
mango flesh or pulp is scooped from the peel. Mango halves undergo "quick freezing" using liquid nitrogen. They are immediately packed and stored at negative 18° Celcius.
IQF process keeps the "fresh-picked" quality, taste and appearance of Philippine Carabao Mango. It gives us the benefit of (1) keeping the nutritional value and flavor or taste; (2) preserving the physical attributes of a fresh fruit; and (3) keeping for longer storage and convenience.
Marsman Drysdale Foods Corp. (MDFC) is the pioneer in the Philippines for liquid nitrogen cryogenic freezing. Its major product is frozen mango halves. IQF Mango Halves can be used for retail and institutional applications.
